Our flagship achievement remains Sri Lanka’s one and only pedestrian crossing bridge with a motorized escalator and elevator — the only one of its kind in South East Asia — alongside projects delivered beyond the island in the Maldives
From provincial road networks to national highway rehabilitation, RDCE has delivered 84 completed road and highway projects since 2009, totalling over Rs. 23.5 billion in contract value across every province of Sri Lanka.
Our work spans everything from cement concrete rural roads to multi-kilometre national highway upgrades funded by JICA, JIBIC and the Road Development Authority — engineered to withstand the island's terrain and climate.
Diversifying to become a more eco-friendly company, RDCE ventured into farming and tea. Ruhunu Development's Tea Processing Centers and Plantations are located amidst the beautiful landscapes of the low country and Sabaragamuwa Mountain Ranges, contributing to the global supply of Ceylon Tea.
The plantation sector provides a livelihood for over 2,000 individuals across Haughton Estate (Kalawana), Mihidum Valley Plantations (Elpitiya), Haycock Valley Tea Factory (Udugama), Sannasgama Tea Factory (Sannasgama) and Malpudanella Plantations (Banagala).
Ruhunu Development's 'Welikanda Farm', still in the early stages of establishment, already supplies organic fruits and
vegetables to major hotels in the North and North Central Provinces of the country — extending the Group's ecofriendly ethos from plantation to plate.
In 2015, Ruhunu Development ventured into the demanding industry of Real Estate and Property Development.
